2023 Adventure Challenge | Bosnia
Join us on an unforgettable volunteer opportunity in Bosnia and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Through the Bosnia Challenge organized by Islamic Relief, you will have the opportunity to visit existing and previous Islamic Relief projects in Bosnia, learn about their important work, and contribute to their ongoing efforts. We invite you to be part of this transformative experience and help us support vulnerable communities in Bosnia.
Fundraising Goal: As a participant in the Bosnia Challenge, your goal is to raise $1,500 through personal crowdfunding. Once you register, you will receive an email with a link to your personal crowdfunding page, along with tips and tools to kick-start your crowdfunding journey. Your fundraising efforts will directly support Islamic Relief's projects in Bosnia and make a lasting difference in the lives of those in need.

What Islamic Relief Covers with Registration Fees:
- Transportation within Bosnia, including to/from the airport in Bosnia
- Three meals per day throughout the trip (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
- 6 nights of accommodation
- Costs of all activities and tours
- Entrance fees for sites/parks
What You Need to Cover: While Islamic Relief covers a significant portion of the expenses, participants are responsible for the following costs:
- Transportation to/from Bosnia (including flights and baggage expenses)
- Selected meals on arrival/departure dates
- Snacks outside of meals
- Souvenir/gift shopping
- Personal expenses
- Medical expenses (travel insurance is required)
- Hiking equipment (boots, poles)
- All other expenses outside of the Islamic Relief Bosnia Trek Challenge (extra tours, stays, transportation, meals)
Itinerary: Over the course of six days, from July 9th to July 16th, the Bosnia Challenge will involve a series of thrilling and impactful activities. Here's a glimpse of what awaits you:
- Rafting 23km down the river Neretva
- Hiking to Zelena Glava, the highest peak of Mt Prenj at 2155m
- Hiking to the peak of Velika Lapa at 2004m
- Canyoning out of the valley through one of the deepest canyons in Europe
- Camping
Please note that this challenge requires physical stamina and endurance. Participants will be pushing themselves physically, but all the efforts will be for a good cause. In the final days of the challenge, you will have the opportunity to visit the Islamic Relief office in Sarajevo and witness firsthand the projects being implemented in the area, along with meeting some of the beneficiaries.
Registration and Eligibility: To secure your spot in the Bosnia Challenge, register now. However, please ensure that you meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Age: 18 years or older
- Vaccination Status: Double vaccinated
- Physically fit
- No serious medical/health conditions that could affect your well-being (e.g., physical injuries, heart conditions, pregnancy) - please consult with your doctor
- Must sign a release waiver and agree to a background check
- Must be able to attend all days of the challenge
